Jackie (she/her) is a graduate intern therapist at Pure Health Center and is pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where clients can deepen their relationship with themselves and move toward meaningful change.
Jackie has special clinical interests in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). She is passionate about helping clients better understand how these experiences may impact the way they navigate and show up in their daily lives. Jackie approaches counseling in a warm and collaborative way, guided by curiosity and compassion. She seeks to understand each client’s unique path while recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. She tailors therapy to each client's unique experiences, strengths, needs, and goals, ensuring care is person-centered and collaborative. Drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches, Jackie incorporates attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic practices, and mindfulness to support clients in fostering self-awareness, resilience, and lasting change.
Before her counseling career, Jackie worked as a middle and high school English Language Arts teacher in an alternative school setting, where she discovered the transformative power of strong, authentic relationships in fostering growth and resilience. Working closely with adolescents and young adults who had experienced significant trauma deepened her commitment to providing compassionate and trauma-informed care. Jackie welcomes the opportunity to continue supporting adolescents and adults who need a safe space to navigate their unique mental health journey.
In her free time, Jackie enjoys yoga and Pilates, as well as traveling, reading, and writing poetry. She also loves exploring Chicago with her partner and her 100 lb Golden Retriever.
